Nueva Goes Rafting
At the beginning of every academic year, each class at Nueva embarks on a personal, explorative retreat into nature, as a way to reflect on the summer and look towards the impending return of classes. After backpacking, camping, and yoga, this year the seniors were introduced to white water rafting, in a section of the American River just north of
Sacramento. With days full of piercingly cold water, exhilarating rapids, and unique tour guides, nights were spent as a community, huddled around a campfire, playing volleyball, and simply enjoying the mellow riverside atmosphere. As a class, we returned home closer than we’d ever been before.
